Topography


Based on its topography, Tanah Bumbu Regency consists of coastal areas, sloping areas with moderate contours, and hilly areas with steep contours. Most of the regency is classified as lowland with a slope of 0–2 percent, covering 362,764 ha (including mangrove and swamp areas), or approximately 72.58 percent of the total area. Areas with slopes greater than 40 percent are very limited, covering only about 7,130 ha (0.05%).

The majority of Tanah Bumbu Regency lies at an elevation of 25–100 meters above sea level, with a total area of around 207,712 ha (40.99%). Areas above 1,000 meters in elevation are very small, covering only about 20 ha, mostly located along the Meratus Mountain range.
